Over the past few months, I’ve been learning to let go — not just of physical clutter, but of things in my life that no longer serve me on this healing journey. It’s been a process. Some days feel light and freeing, and others feel heavy and emotional… but I know every small step matters and I’m trying.
Today, I’m sharing part of that process with you: my spring closet declutter and organization. It wasn’t just about folding clothes or clearing shelves, it was about making space for calm, for clarity, and for who I’m becoming. Letting go of items I no longer use, letting go of the “maybe if” and the “as soon as” , letting go of my past.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed or stuck in your space (or even in your mind), I hope this encourages you to start small. Open one drawer, one shelf… and breathe. Small steps are important and I am learning this as a part of my journey.
I filmed the entire process to share with you , it’s not perfectly styled, just honest and real. It took me around 8-10 hours, why? because it was an emotional experience for me. I laughed, I took breaks, I was sad remembering memories behind some of my items. Ultimately it was very therapeutic for me. Feeling stuck and trapped surrounded by things was overwhelming in itself, so it was time for a change.
I know I do this clear out almost yearly, but this time it was a sudden need, the need to be different, the need to have different, the need to want different. I won’t lie the past few days I went completely dark on all socials and even within my circle. I was feeling overwhelmed and this was the end result of that. It is a process and your journey will never look like others. Trust yourself ( I am learning) and things will get better.
I will be donating my items to Diabetes Canada. You are able to schedule pickups and they come directly to your home for the items, it’s truly convenient. I know you are able to donate books and clothing but if you are interested you should visit their website to find out more.
If you’d like to watch and declutter along with me, you can find the video here:
And if you’re on your own journey of healing, growth, or letting go, I want you to know: I see you. We can do this, one small reset at a time.
Thank you for being here with me. 💛
