Chocolate Fudge: A Simple Recipe for Your Next Sweet Craving

Oh, how I adore indulging in the delectable delight known as fudge, but with chocolate! There is something truly special about the way it melts in my mouth, leaving me in a state of sheer bliss. This sinful pleasure can, burn a hole in my pocket, because let’s face it I have a severe sweet tooth. So, by keeping a handful of ingredients on hand, I can whip up a batch of chocolate fudge right in the comfort of my own home. This recipe will satisfy your cravings and bring joy to your taste buds, my opinion lol. Prepare it in advance and enjoy every single moment of pure, chocolate fudge sweetness. you’ll have a lasting supply of chocolate fudge to savor with each piece you cut.

What You’ll Need

  • 560g chocolate- I used a mixture of dark and semi sweet.
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 2 1/2tbsp butter (around 20-25g)
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 1tsp mint extract (optional- I made these around Christmas time)

How To Make It

  • Line pan of choice (depends on how tall you want your fudge) with parchment paper and set aside
  • Add condensed milk to chocolate in a bowl
  • Place over a bain-marie (pot with warm water) on low heat to melt chocolate
  • Stir constantly until chocolate melts, add butter then add extracts. Use LOW HEAT
  • Stir to mix and help chocolate to melt
  • Once chocolate is fully melted, pour into prepared pan, spread evenly in pan.
  • Chill for 2-3 hours to set product, once set cut and enjoy your fudge

Things To Note

  • You may need to spray/rub palette knife with oil/butter when spreading to avoid it from sticking to batter (test first before added additional lubricant)
  • Fat (butter) may pool at the top of fudge before chilling, (ensure mixture is melted on low heat), if this happens you can use a paper towel to dab the top to absorb excess fat.
  • You may use only dark chocolate, I used a mixture because I had chocolate I needed to use up.
  • Mint extract is completely optional, as I made it around Christmas time and mint chocolate is very popular for Christmas time.

I absolutely love chocolate and fudge so why not combine these two irresistible treats? Although the process may require a bit of patience, the end result is worth it. Once you prepare a batch of this chocolate fudge, you’ll have enough to satisfy your cravings for at least two months (depending on your level of indulgence, of course!). In fact, you can even freeze the excess fudge and enjoy it whenever you desire. Trust me, the wait will be well worth it.
